Students Starting Fall 2017

UCLA Orientation (First Year, Transfer and Graduate Students) (Highly Recommended)

Register online for the UCLA New Student, Transfer Student or Graduate Student Orientation that takes place once you arrive at UCLA. These orientation sessions are invaluable to assist you in getting to know the UCLA campus, meet your advisors and register for classes.

FIRST YEAR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

The majority of incoming international students attended the three-day New Student Orientation. It is a great opportunity to:

  • Get to know the campus
  • Register for classes
  • Take placement exams
  • Meet your advisor
  • And more…

  • Please note that registering for earlier orientation sessions does not mean that you have a better chance of enrolling in particular classes. The seats for classes are held by New Student and Transition Programs and are distributed evenly throughout all the orientation sessions. Please register for the orientation session that works best with your schedule since you will have an equal opportunity to register for classes as the students in earlier orientation sessions.

How to register: See the UCLA New Student Orientation for International Students website for more information on session dates, cost, how to register, what’s included in the orientation, etc: http://newstudents.ucla.edu/orientation-programs/first-year-students/.

*Important Note: The cost of attending the UCLA First Year Student Orientation is NOT included in the $59 cost of iSTART, that fee must be paid separately when you register for a UCLA New Student Orientation session.

    TRANSFER NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

The majority of international transfer students attended the one-day Transfer New Student Orientation. It is a great opportunity to:

  • Get to know the campus
  • Register for classes
  • Take placement exams
  • Meet your advisor
  • And more…
