International Student Ambassador Program

Interested in Applying?

Applications to become an International Student Ambassador for the 2017-2018 academic year are accepted on a rolling basis; however, we recommend that you apply as soon as possible since we only accept one ambassador per country.

Eligibility:
  • Open to all currently enrolled UCLA students who have spent 3+ years living out of the U.S.
  • Must have completed at least three quarters at UCLA.
  • Ability to display initiative and display self-directed leadership.
  • Must enjoy working in a diverse and team-oriented group.
  • Have a strong interest in developing cross-cultural relationships and advocating on behalf of international students at UCLA.
Responsibilities:

  • Dedicate approximately two hours per week to the program
  • Attend an orientation during spring quarter prior to the academic year you are serving
  • Participate in a two-day Ambassador Leadership Retreat the weekend before Week 0
  • Volunteer at Dashew Center's Welcome Carnival during True Bruin Week
  • Volunteer at and plan various Dashew Center programs throughout the year (i.e. World Café).
  • Respond to email inquiries within 72 hours through the provided email account
  • Familiarize yourself with on-campus resources for international students and UCLA's study abroad programs in your home country
  • Be available as a resource for the campus and community as a representative of your home country and the international community at-large
  • Assist with outreach and other special projects as needed
