GLOBAL SIBLINGS COORDINATOR APPLICATION
The Global Siblings Program is looking for students leaders to serve at the Global Siblings Coordinator for the 2017-2018 academic year! 

Applications are currently being accepting for 2016-2017 Global Siblings Coordinators.

 The Global Siblings Coordinator is a leadership position within the Global Siblings program. This is a unique leadership opportunity on campus for students to engage in international and multicultural planning and awareness. Selected based on their application as well as an interview process, coordinators are not only Global Siblings themselves, but also help coordinate the meetings and activities of Global Sibling pairs assigned to them. This position presents an excellent opportunity to gain management experience (both people and budgetary), programming skills, and international exposure.

Who are we looking for?

  • Students who have an interest in international awareness and cultural appreciation
  • Students who are looking for a leadership position involving event planning, mentoring and exploring new parts of LA and campus life
  •  A full academic year commitment from Fall-Spring Quarter
  • A welcoming and positive attitude

Note: Everyone is welcome to apply! You do not need to have been in the program prior to apply.

What is the commitment for a Global Siblings Coordinator?

  •  Attend and participate in bi-monthly Global Siblings coordinator meeting and report on group activities.
  •  Maintain contact with their Global sibling group, ensuring that pairs are meeting, answering any questions and confusions as they arise, and offering suggestions for sibling activities.
  •   Manage a programming budget, organize at least two Global Siblings family activity per quarter, and help plan large all-program events.
  • Attend the mandatory Coordinator Retreat on Sept 23 & 24, 2017.
  •  Perform the duties expected of a Global Sibling in addition to your Coordinator responsibilities.

Dear Mr. Ericksen:

First I'd like to thank you for directing such an amazing place as Dashew Center, I as an international student appreciate all your work and programs. I'm writing you to give you some feedback about the trip to Yosemite. This was the best trip ever, I'm really glad you are looking into new directions to integrate international students and this trip has been my best experience at UCLA (I'm starting my third year as a graduate student). Jennie and all her staff organized perfectly this trip. The hotel was good as well as all the activites they programmed. My expectations were completely overcome by their work. Not only we had an amazing time, they always tried to integrate everyone to form one group. We worked as a team and now I think that all of us will never forget this three lovely persons that made this trip a reallity. Thank you very much.
