Join us for our Summer Break Travel*Mate: A Cultural Exchange trip to Yosemite from June 18th - 21st!  Our Travel*Mate trips can be thought of as "Global Siblings on the Road"!  These trips are a great way to meet friends from across the world and see the U.S.!  Our trips are designed for you to make as many friend as possible during our mandatory events, get to know your Travel*Mate that is from a different country from you and enjoy the must-see sites at the same time!  Highlights of the trip include:

  • Transportation to/from all destinations
  • 3 nights accommodations
  • Most meals
  • Sightseeing in Yosemite
  • Rafting on the Merced River (*dependent on weather)

Tickets go on sale Monday, April 3rd in the Dashew Center (Bradley Hall #106)  

Travel*Mate Rules and Regulations: Please take a look at the Rules and Regulations prior to coming into the Dashew Center to purchase your ticket. 

 MANDATORY Pre-Trip Meeting: The Pre-Trip meeting will be held on TuesdayJune 6th at 7 PM in De Neve Plaza Room. At this meeting you will receive all of the important information you will need regarding the trip (e.g. itinerary, packing list, meet your Travel*Mate, fill out medical forms, waivers, etc.). This meeting is Mandatory. Failure to attend will result in a $50 fee, that must be paid in order to attend the trip.  

 *Important Note: In order to ensure that Travel Mates are from diverse countries, registration is limited to fifty-percent of the trip being from any particular country.

First I'd like to thank you for directing such an amazing place as Dashew Center, I as an international student appreciate all your work and programs. I'm writing you to give you some feedback about the trip to Yosemite. This was the best trip ever, I'm really glad you are looking into new directions to integrate international students and this trip has been my best experience at UCLA (I'm starting my third year as a graduate student). Jennie and all her staff organized perfectly this trip. The hotel was good as well as all the activites they programmed. My expectations were completely overcome by their work. Not only we had an amazing time, they always tried to integrate everyone to form one group. We worked as a team and now I think that all of us will never forget this three lovely persons that made this trip a reallity. Thank you very much.
